  • Three lanes of Addams Tollway opening Oct 29, 2014 10:29 AM
    The Illinois Tollway is opening three lanes of roadway in each direction between Rockford and Elgin as part of a $2.5 billion rebuilding project. Gov. Pat Quinn announced the development Tuesday. Officials say the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway — also known as Interstate 90 — will be a state-of-the-art road from Interstate 294 to Interstate 39.

Yingling has received about $417,000 in cash and in-kind contributions since July 1, about triple that of Drobinski, a Lake County gangs prosecutor.

  • Early voting problems arise in Cook County suburbs Oct 20, 2014 5:34 PM
    Problems were reported in the Northwest suburbs of Cook County on the first day of early voting Monday — including one case of a Republican candidate being unable to vote for himself or other members of his party on a touch screen. The other issue, which occurred at Arlington Heights village hall and a few other locations, involved the wrong signatures popping up for voters who came in to cast ballots.

     
  • School districts host forum on Senate Bill 16 Oct 19, 2014 4:26 PM
    The public is invited to a forum hosted by Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54, Palatine Township Elementary District 15 and Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 to share information about Senate Bill 16 at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Schaumburg High School, 1100 W. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg. Officials from the three districts say Senate Bill 16 would dramatically reduce their state funding by redistributing general state aid they now receive to districts in other communities.
