Also, two Garmin GPS devices were stolen from a van and garbage hauler also parked there, causing an estimated total loss of $900, the report said.

    Stephen S. Potisuk, 59, of St. Charles, was charged with aggravated battery of a police officer, aggravated battery of an EMT and aggravated resisting arrest at 9:54 p.m. June 19, according to a sheriff’s report. He is accused of pushing and shoving medics and sheriff’s deputies who responded to the 44W100 block of Empire Road to treat a patient who subsequently refused to be treated.

    Jesus M. Cepeda Jr., 19, of Aurora, was charged with possession of marijuana and having a loud muffler after at traffic stop at 4:59 p.m. Monday at Parker Avenue and Watson Street, Aurora, according to a sheriff’s report. A deputy found 4.8 grams of marijuana after searching the car because of a marijuana odor, the report said.

    Anthony N. Nanfria, 26, of Batavia, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to signal a lane change or turn, speeding, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated assault and obstruction a peace officer, at 1:43 a.m. Sunday in the 0-99 block of North Batavia Avenue, according to a police report.

     
  • No injuries in house fire near St. Charles May 8, 2014 9:55 PM
    Firefighters were able to contain a fire to the attic of a two-story single family home Thursday afternoon near St. Charles, authorities said. Crews were dispatched to the fire at 4:30 p.m. on the 35W 700 block of Bluff Drive, which is located in an unincorporated area east of Route 31 and west of the Fox River.

Prior, 18, of Coventry Circle, Glendale Heights, were each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana after a traffic stop for a loud muffler at 2:47 a.m. Saturday at Butterfield and Mitchell Roads near Aurora, according to a sheriff’s report.

     
  • 3 hurt in St. Charles-area rollover crash Apr 4, 2014 5:57 PM
    Three people were taken to the hospital with injuries as a result of a rollover crash Thursday night near St. Charles, authorities said. The two-car crash, in which one vehicle rolled over, occurred about 8 p.m. at the intersection of Route 64 and Dean Street, according to the Fox River & Countryside Fire/Rescue District.

    Cody J. Anderson, 20, of Geneva, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without required lights at 9:10 p.m. Saturday at Brundige Road and Route 38 near Geneva, according to a sheriff’s report. A passenger, Kristof J. Brandli-Lennart, 18, of Geneva, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said.

  • Man shot in St. Charles Township break-in charged with burglary Mar 24, 2014 5:43 PM
    A 26-year-old St. Charles man who was shot in the side by a St. Charles Township man March 17 after authorities say he broke into a home has been charged with residential burglary. Michael G. Huston, who was hospitalized after the break-in, faces four to 15 years in prison if convicted.

     
  • Home intruder shot in St. Charles Township Mar 17, 2014 3:07 PM
    Kane County authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred in St. Charles Township Monday. The sheriff's office said a 43-year-old man shot a 26-year-old from St. Charles after he broke into a home on the 38W0-99 block of Mallard Lake Road. The intruder ran, was located a few blocks away and was treated at a Geneva hospital. Officials are investigating and no charges have been filed.
