    The Gay Softball World Series comes to the Chicago area this week, kicking off with an opening ceremony Monday at Navy Pier. After that, 150 teams will play games from Tuesday through Saturday at fields in Schaumburg, St. Charles and Elmhurst.

    For the first time since 1986, the Chicago area will host the Gay Softball World Series Aug. 29-Sept. 4. Games will be played in Schaumburg, St. Charles and Elmhurst. The series is expected to draw 4,000 athletes and fans to the Chicago area.

  • Four charged in drug robbery at St. Charles park Nov 4, 2010 3:11 PM
    Three St. Charles men and a juvenile from Geneva have been charged in a drug-related robbery this fall at Primrose Farm Park, police said Thursday. Authorities said the suspects arranged a “small cannabis transaction” Sept. 17 at the St. Charles Township park at Bolcum and Crane roads, then robbed the seller of marijuana by either displaying a gun or indicating they had one.
