"Doepking came in and managed not only Monica (Abbott), but the entire pitching staff so effectively.

Morrow continued to attend Wisconsin camps and form a relationship with Healy and her staff and in the process, the 5-foot-10 righthander hatched a dream to one day play college softball at Goodman Diamond in Madison. This weekend, that dream became a reality when Morrow accepted a scholarship offer from Wisconsin.

Moore said. “Kristen provides some much-needed pop from the right side of the plate for us and she also brings a nice veteran presence. We’re looking for her to at least duplicate what she did in 2012. If she does that, our lineup will continue to get stronger.”

    All of 15 years old for another month, Carmel Catholic sophomore Jenny Behan cannot legally drive a car yet. “Well,” she said with a laugh, “I’m driving. But, yeah, I haven’t gotten my license yet. I can drive a car — but not by myself.” She needs no paper to drive base runners in. Two years from now, she’ll have documentation. That’s when Behan plans to sign a national letter of intent with James Madison University to play softball. Talk about a trip. She won’t graduate from high school for two-and-a-half years, but she’s already decided on her college destination.

"It doesn't matter if it's floor hockey or what it is," Bauer said. "Her competititveness is where it starts. She wants to win." Lach, who burst onto the softball scene last spring in earning all-area honors, verbally committed over the weekend to accept a softball scholarship offer from Butler University in Indianapolis.

The three-time all-area sstandout and two-time honorary co-captain of the all-area team recently committed to Yale University.
