    Schaumburg Golf Club, the Schaumburg Park District’s 27-hole championship course, has delayed a planned Friday, March 27, opening due to this week’s snow. The course now anticipates a Monday opening, a park district spokeswoman said Wednesday. Walnut Greens, the district’s nine-hole par three course also should open then.

The Schaumburg Park District event featured demonstrations on syrup making, sap collecting methods used by American Indians and early pioneers, tree tapping, a pioneer sugar camp, children's puppet show and a hayride.

    Work will begin this month on a six-month, $2.5 million renovation of the Schaumburg Park District’s 36-year-old Community Recreation Center at 505 N. Springinsguth Road.
