    Sophomore Annalise Avers got the perfect birthday present Wednesday afternoon after scoring the first goal for Barrington and helping on two others in the Fillies' 9-0 romp over No. 4 seed Round Lake on the turf of Barrington Community Stadium in a regional first-round matchup. The No. 1 Fillies (14-4-1) next face North Suburban Conference champion Lake Zurich (9-6-3) on Friday in the regional final after the Bears overpowered Grant 7-0 in the second match of the night.

Next up for the NSC champs will be the host Fillies in the regional final Friday after the home side stopped Round Lake 9-0 in the first match of the day.

    Despite 3 errors, Stevenson was able to roll by North Suburban Conference Lake Division champion Mundelein 7-1 Tuesday. A steady stream of hits helped. The Patriots tallied 9 hits, thanks to a 3-for-3 effort out of Jimmy Marchese, who got one of his hits to go for a double. Zach Novoselsky drove in 2 runs while going 3-for-4 and Eli Greenspon also finished with 2 RBI. Pitcher Mitchell Goll got the win for Stevenson, which improves to 17-10. He gave up only 1 walk over six innings.
