    Hans Pallan and Peyton Mohr each struck twice before the half hour to help Barrington finish off an undermanned club from Prospect 5-1 on Wednesday night in Mt. Prospect. The Pallan-Morh tandem duo did the majority of the damage for the Broncos (6-4-0, 2-1-0); Ian Ford rounded out the scoring eight minutes into the second period before most of the Broncos’ starting lineup came off the field for good.

    When she looks across the street from her home, Isabella Flack sees a huge dirt mound on a fairway of the Mt. Prospect Golf Course where she and her Prospect teammates have played countless number of rounds. With their home course under renovation all season, the Knights have become road warriors. And life hasn’t been so bad on the road. The six-time defending Mid-Suburban League champions continued one of the most impressive current league winning streaks on Wednesday at Palatine Hills Golf Course. In a battle of MSL unbeaten girls golf teams, Prospect won its 85th straight conference match with a 163-175 triumph over host Fremd (7-1).

    Eleven-time defending Mid-Suburban East girls volleyball champion Hersey is once again in the driver’s seat for another crown.Rallying from a first-set deficit, the Huskies came up with a 25-22, 25-17 victory at the Ken Carter Gymnasium on Tuesday night.

    St. Ignatius took top honors in the St. Viator girls swimming invitational Saturday, finished with 377 points to edge Prospect (312.4), Huntley (287.5) and the host Lions (269). Prospect’s Samantha Berkley had the winning effort in the 100 fly (1:04.97). The Knights’ Betsy Rozow was second in the 50 free (25.75) and third in the 100 back (1:02.38), and Gracie Dix took third in the 100 free (58.87). Top finishers for St. Viator included Jackie Rose in the 200 free (2nd, 2:01.71) and 100 free (2nd, 56.59) and Ashley Alteri in the 100 fly (2nd, 1:05.19). Huntley’s highest placement came from Hailey Hill, second in the 500 free (5:35.67). Barrington d. Evanston: Barrington produced a strong effort to win a nonconference dual meet at Evanston on Saturday. Sarah Kate Capel won the 50-yard free (25.32) and had legs on all three of the Fillies’ winning relays as Barrington prevailed 111-75. Kirsten Jacobsen won the 200 free (1:54.82), the 100 free (54.39) and also had two winning relay legs. Andrea Vega had the top finishes in the 200 IM (2:11.35) and the 100 breast (1:07.39) for the Fillies, and Maggie Emary won the 500 free in 5:10.54.

    Glenbard West just keeps rolling. Last year, the Hilltoppers won the Class 3A girls cross country state title, and they haven’t missed a beat in starting this season. The previous weekend, Glenbard West ran to impressive victory in a loaded Hinsdale Central Invite, and the Hilltoppers kept it going on Saturday at the 40th annual Harvey Braus Invitiational at Lake Park in Roselle. Junior Lindsay Graham took control of the race in the second mile and cruised to the individual title in 16:49, powering Glenbard West to the team title with 27 points.

    The St. Viator boys golf team has enjoyed great success in recent years. The Lions won consecutive state titles from 2007-09 and boasted the state individual Class 3A medalist in 2008 (Joey Carlson) and 2009 (Dan Stringfellow). Still, with all of the past accomplishments, Monday’s performance by Viator junior John Carlson — Joey’s cousin, by the way — had to be one of the best ever. Amongst top flight competition such as New Trier, Barrington, Prospect and Glenbrook North at the Inverness Invitational, Carlson fired a 2-under 70 to win medalist honors on a picture-perfect day.
