The Hanover Park facility has been kept under wraps while crews worked on a long-overdue project at the 22-year-old building at 4300 Audrey Lane. “It feels happy and attractive,” board President Susan Spooner said Wednesday. “It used to feel kind of dark and sad.”

    Challenger Bonnie Hulke beat out incumbent Cheryl Domokos for a seat on the Poplar Creek Library Board, unofficial results show. With 44 of 45 precincts reporting, incumbent Patricia Carl had the lead with 38 percent, and Hulke came in with 33 percent of the vote. Incumbent Domokos trailed Hulke by more than 3 percentage points.
