Damage was estimated at $5,000.

    Nancy C. Stringillo, 51, of the 6600 block of Columbine Street, Crystal Lake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, no insurance and failure to dim headlights after a traffic stop at 1:10 a.m. July 10 at Route 47 and Plank Road near Hampshire, according to a sheriff report. A motorist reported another driver had driven into a ditch and cornfield, then returned to the road. Stringillo failed field sobriety tests and a breath test showed a .178 BAC, the report said.

    Someone cut spark plug wires and brake lines on a 1997 Dodge Dakota on the 6N200 block of Willow Drive near St. Charles between 5 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday, according to a sheriff’s report.

     
  • Fox Valley police reports Jul 17, 2014 4:23 PM
    Joseph P. Liss, 24, of Elgin, was charged Wednesday with theft, according to court records. He is accused of taking a Gucci brand wristwatch from the owner June 27. The watch is valued at more than $500. His bail was set at $30,000 in Kane County bond court, and his next court date is July 23.

Also, two Garmin GPS devices were stolen from a van and garbage hauler also parked there, causing an estimated total loss of $900, the report said.

    Someone tried to break into a storage garage on the 1300 block of Mitchell Road near Aurora between 10 p.m. July 8 and 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to a sheriff’s report. About $1,000 damage was caused to the garage’s door.

  • Fox Valley police reports Jul 9, 2014 5:50 PM
    Somsanouk Manikham, 32, of Elgin, was charged July 1 with no valid driver's license, according to a West Dundee Police Department news release. He was stopped by police while traveling west on Main Street. At the time, he had two active warrants charging him with traffic offenses in Kane County. Manikham was released on recognizance for the no driver’s license charge, but he was unable to post the bond for the active warrants.
