And with some coaxing by the owners of the Deutsch Dairy Farm, the Burlington Prairie Forest Preserve might see similar lines.

    Kane County Forest Preserve District commissioners are positioned to intervene on a plan that would place ComEd power lines and towers on the outskirts of two preserves. The district, though, could bend to desires of local farmers and allow lines to run through the preserves instead. But that will only happen if ComEd is willing to pay the district enough to buy one of the neighboring farms. The whole decision will come down to money.

    Kane County Forest Preserve District officials are interested in haggling with ComEd over the rights to run new power lines and towers through the Muirhead preserve. In short, if ComEd comes up without enough money, commissioners may be willing to allow the lines to run along existing railroad tracks. That would make private farmers in the area happy. The lines will run through their property in the current plan.

    Antonio de Jesus Gonzalez, 20, of Elgin, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia after a disturbance at 2:35 a.m. Aug. 10 in the 10N200 block of Muirhead Road, according to a sheriff’s report.

    Matthew L. Lorenz, 23, of Geneva, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, and driving with just one headlight, at 12:33 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Crissy Avenue, Batavia, according to a police report.

    Ana Sandra Rivas Mora, 22, of Round Lake Beach, was charged with misdemeanor battery at 2 p.m. May 21 after an incident in the 12N300 block of Hilltop Road near Elgin in which she is accused of slapping another woman in the faces several times during an argument, according to a sheriff's report.

    Authorities were called to the 11N300 block of Russell Road in Plato Township at 1:52 p.m. April 28 for a report of shots fired, according to a sheriff's report, No arrests were made. Police found more than 150 shell casings from different types of guns around a small campfire littered with beer cans, the report said.

    Cameron T. Hardiman, 33, of Elgin, was arrested at about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday and charged with reckless driving, attempting to elude a police officer, driving with a suspended driver's license, operating an uninsured vehicle and possession of 2.5 grams or less of cannabis, according to a police report.

    Elgin police and sheriff's deputies investigating a complaint about guns being fired at 1:52 a.m. Sunday in the 11N300 block of Russell Road, found firecracker remnants, and more than 150 spent shotgun shells, rifle casings and .45-caliber bullet casings, as well as an unattended fire in a fire pit on the property.

    The Kane County Probation Department, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles, reported that a $1,620 electronic home monitoring bracelet was damaged between 8:32 p.m. March 6 and 2:42 p.m. March 8 by a suspect who was transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to a sheriff's report. Officials discovered the damage after the bracelet was picked up from the former home of the 24-year-old suspect, whose information was not released.

    The Kane County Probation Department, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles, reported that a $1,620 electronic home monitoring bracelet was damaged between 8:32 p.m. March 6 and 2:42 p.m. March 8 by a suspect who was transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to a sheriff's report. Officials discovered the damage after the bracelet was picked up from the former home of the 24-year-old suspect, whose information was not released.

    A resident of the 38W600 block of Glenview Drive near St. Charles wired $7,000 between 10 a.m. Wednesday and 12:21 p.m. Friday to an unknown person after receiving a call that a male relative had been arrested and was stranded in Peru, according to a sheriff's report. The victim became suspicious after the caller asked for more money day after day, the report said.
