    The Schaumburg Palatine High School District board of education honored three students at a meeting Thursday for being named Golden Apple Scholars. The three students will each attend an Illinois university in the fall and receive thousands of dollars in scholarships, along with mentoring and support as they pursue their degrees in education. The winners are Lizbeth Arreola, Palatine High School; Maya Lane, Conant High School; and Jae Eun Shin, Conant High School.

Members of the school's Engineering and Electronics Club attended a competition in Michigan won two first place trophies for onboard electronics and presentation. “I think they set the bar extremely high for themselves,” said Peter Goss, applied technology teacher at Conant.
