The Hawks can now add their first Dundee-Crown Charger Classic championship as well as another 1,000 point scorer to the list. Senior Kristin Conniff scored 24 points, eclipsing 1,000 for her career, and the Hawks hit New Trier with a 26-10 blitz in the third quarter theld held on during a frenetic finish to beat the Trevians 76-66 in the 29th annual tournament’s championship game before a vocal crowd of about 800 Thursday night in Carpentersville.

    Mitch Munda, a second-year varsity player and first-year starting guard, scored a career-high 18 points, including a 3-pointer, grabbed 5 rebounds (all on the offensive glass) and dished out 2 assists as Warren handled visiting New Treir 64-46 on Saturday. Munda had scored only 16 points in Warren’s first four games.

And Tuesday night in Park Ridge, the Vikings (16-5-2) extended the thought and made it a November to remember for their fans. Fremd’s postseason run continued at the Maine South boys soccer supersectional Tuesday, and the Vikings made light work of upset-minded New Trier with a 5-1 victory to book their spot in the Class 3A state tournament Final Four on Friday afternoon at Lincoln-Way North High School in Frankfort.
