    The next principal of Naperville North High School says she aims to bring a “breath of fresh air” into a school that’s already well-regarded for educational excellence. Stephanie Posey, who is principal at Belleville East High School in southwest Illinois near St. Louis, has been named as Naperville North’s next principal to follow the retiring Kevin Pobst. "This is going to be an opportunity and a challenge for me that I’m looking forward to,” Posey said.

    Abbie Boswell is no one-note performer. Naperville North’s third all-time goal scorer in girls soccer, the two-time all-state forward is a reachable 25 goals away from program leader Eileen Guiney. A probable four-year starter, Boswell helped the Huskies win Class 3A titles as a freshman and sophomore. Last fall the 17-year-old senior made her second trip to the state tennis finals in doubles. She paints, she likes volleyball, but her true third act is as a vocalist.

    After Lyons Twp. claimed a hard-fought win over Naperville North three weeks ago, Lions boys basketball coach Tom Sloan instantly began dreading a possible rematch. The dread became reality on Monday. It took every ounce of energy for seeded and favored Lyons to beat the Huskies again — 59-56 in double overtime — and advance to the semifinals of York’s 41st Annual Jack Tosh Holiday Classic in Elmhurst. The Lions face unbeaten Lake Forest at 8 p.m. Tuesday with a berth in the title game on the line. Naperville North plays Highland Park in the consolation bracket at 5 p.m.

Gonzalez came back from a nasty fall on bars to take first in the all-around (36.6) in leading Prospect to the 27th annual Palatine Invite title with 140.875 points on Saturday.
