The Mundelein District 75 school board is scheduled to interview two search firms as the process to find a replacement for Superintendent Cynthia Heidorn continues. Heidorn, who started with District 75 in July 2005, plans to retire at the end of the 2013-14 school year.

Mundelein District 75 refines crisis plan Mar 12, 2013 12:00 AM
Mundelein District 75 has revised its crisis plan and is planning an intruder drill this spring. Essentially, the adjustments allow the district to better align its response with that of local authorities, clearly defining the roles of various people in a crisis situation, according to Superintendent Cynthia Heidorn. "What we've done now is just adjusted (the plan) so it matches the National Incident Management System and our response will be coordinated," she said.

Frice is senior portfolio manager/equity analyst with Great Lakes Advisors LLC of Chicago and has served for more than 17 years on the Mundelein District 75 school board, the last 10 as president.

Mundelein District 75 teachers get two-year deal May 15, 2012 12:00 AM
Teachers in Mundelein Elementary District 75 have a new two-year contract, with wage increases slightly higher than in the current pact. The school board on Monday night approved the agreement with the Mundelein Elementary Education Association for the period beginning July 1 and extending through June 30, 2014.

Carl Sandburg Middle School continued its long-standing tradition of hosting the senior citizen breakfast. The student council sponsors this event, which is designed to thank and inform the senior citizens in the Mundelein Elementary District 75 community. This year’s event featured a visit from the members of Mundelein Veterans of Foreign War and musical tributes by the Sandburg Band.

Eagle Park up and ready to rollOct 20, 2011 12:00 AM
District 75 completed the construction of Eagle Park, a new school playground located on the grounds of Washington Elementary School in Mundelein. The two-day construction project was staffed by over 40 community volunteers along with District 75 volunteer staff. The new playground was the culmination of more than three years of fundraising and planning.
