    Teachers and officials in Mundelein Elementary District 75 say they are close to a contract agreement. Talks have been ongoing since the beginning of the year and in June were referred to mediation. The contract ended June 30. "We hope to come to an agreement soon," said school board member Wells Frice.

    The Mundelein District 75 school board is scheduled to interview two search firms as the process to find a replacement for Superintendent Cynthia Heidorn continues. Heidorn, who started with District 75 in July 2005, plans to retire at the end of the 2013-14 school year.
