Paddy Bauler, the late unlamented ward boss, once famously stated “Chicago ain’t ready for reform.” Mark Walker, during his first term as state representative has pushed a reform agenda whether Illinois is ready for reform or not.

  • Trusts Walker to make the right call Oct 25, 2010 1:00 AM
I’ve had enough of career politicians who will say anything to get re-elected. We need an honest, independent voice in state government, which is why I’m supporting Mark Walker for state representative. Mark is a businessman and reformer who will make difficult decisions and do what’s right for our state.

  • Walker's negative campaign puts Harris in better light Oct 18, 2010 9:14 AM
Mark Walker is running an openly negative campaign for state representative of the 66th District. To portray your opponent as supporting child pornography and sexual predators as well as viewing women as second class citizens and “property is not campaigning but simple dishonest character assassination.

  • Why won't Walker say he's a Democrat? Oct 18, 2010 9:15 AM
Why is it that our state representative will not identify himself as a Democrat? Mark Walker is the Democrat candidate for state representative. But the word Democrat is not on any of his campaign literature. It is not on his yard signs. It is not even on his website.

  • Harris will bring financial stability Oct 27, 2010 8:53 PM
It's the economy, stupid! It's jobs, jobs, jobs. But incumbent Democratic State Rep. Mark Walker is hung up on holding on to his “pro-choice" position! Heck, Illinois is so darn liberal on “choice" it has become the dumping ground for surrounding states which require minimal parental involvement before a child is aborted.

  • Walker stands apart from party bosses Oct 27, 2010 11:50 PM
In the race for state representative for the 66th District, why should I vote for David Harris? I received a fancy 9x12 envelope in the mail with an appeal for a campaign donation. The five-page request touted Harris's experience as deputy director and chief of staff for the Iraq Reconstruction Management Office.

  • Send Harris to fix state budget mess Oct 27, 2010 11:48 PM
Does Mark Walker's voting record reflect your views? In the 20 months Rep. Walker has represented us, Rep. Walker voted in favor of a budget that has over a $13 billion deficit. That is more than a third of what we take in each year! He has also voted in favor of approving $3.9 billion in new debt.

I have lived in Illinois all my life, and I have never felt as uncertain about the future here in Illinois as I do now. We have a budget that is sinking in red ink, we have unpaid bills stacked to the ceiling and we continue to borrow and increase our long-term debt.
