The candidates for the 44th district of the Illinois House agree that pension reform needs to be addressed immediately. Democrat incumbent Fred Crespo, of Hoffman Estates, and Republican Ramiro Juarez, of Streamwood, said they would like to see the state make payments in full and on time, but disagreed on whether the burden should be shifted to the local level. Juarez said he would support a small percentage being required of school districts if it is phased in gradually.
