Ruth Munson has earned our trustOct 26, 2010 12:00 AM
Things are bad in Springfield and have only gotten worse in the last two years. We need someone there who understands our needs and who won’t back down from a challenge. We need Ruth Munson fighting for us because we know we can count on her.

Enough is enough, RuthOct 26, 2010 12:00 AM
Shame on the Illinois Republican Party and Ruth Munson for sending out those nasty mailers accusing Rep. Keith Farnham of doing nothing to correct a school funding formula flaw that has cost U-46 millions of dollars and would have brought an additional $22 million in state funding to the district this year.

Farnham tactics are underhandedOct 26, 2010 12:00 AM
In the Oct. 16 newspapers, it was reported that Keith Farnham said that GOP fliers that raise serious questions about his communications with the governor are “lies.” The flier is based on a curious lack of phone call records provided by the governor’s office to the GOP under the Freedom of Information Act. Farnham has since brought forth witnesses to the contrary, but he’s still upset. Somehow, I just can’t seem to care.

Don’t question Farnham’s honestyOct 26, 2010 12:00 AM
I am disgusted with the letter I read from Mr. Mursewick questioning Rep. Keith Farnham’s honesty. Let’s set the record straight: Farnham has been walking door-to-door for several months talking with voters and getting permission to put up yard signs. In fact, he stopped by my house in early August. We had a nice chat and now I am proudly displaying a Farnham yard sign.

Truth check: Farnham did lobby for U-46 funding fix Oct 15, 2010 12:00 AM
State Rep. Keith Farnham has been playing his best card in his bid for another term in Springfield representing the 43rd District: a quantifiable change to help 41,000 schoolchildren in a school district that recently had mass layoffs.

43rd District candidates play it safe in debate Oct 7, 2010 12:00 AM
With mud in the forms of political mailers being flung and a boxing ring-style bell set up to tell candidates when their time was up, one might have thought hopefuls for the 43rd District state representative race would have come out swinging at an Elgin forum Thursday night.

Two Republican challengers in the Fox Valley have teamed up to question their respective opponents' actions on controversial school funding legislation.

Not a supporter of FarnhamOct 5, 2010 12:00 AM
It has been brought to my attention there is a photo to be published and/or circulated showing me at the Veterans Memorial Park in Elgin. I was a member of the Veterans Memorial Park Committee and was invited to the park by a former committee member to shoot some pictures.

Looking at the art behind those political ads, mailersOct 4, 2010 12:00 AM
There's the Americana theme, looking back to a simpler, more stable time. Others are downright creepy -- with ghoulish looking characters leaping off the page and screen. The most popular kind pack a below-the-belt punch.

43rd state House candidates say tough budget choices aheadOct 4, 2010 12:00 AM
Keith Farnham and Ruth Munson, the two candidates running for the state's 43rd House District, didn't disagree on much at the League of Women Voters' debate Sunday in Elgin. But they had more to say to each other than Tim Schmitz and Jennifer Barconi, the 49th House District candidates.

Look to Farnham if you hate taxesSep 28, 2010 12:00 AM
When I read Stephany Welzien's Sept. 20 letter to the editor I had to laugh because she obviously has been hoodwinked. First of all, Ruth Munson is a career politician.
