The Redhawks made it two straight over Glenbard North with Saturday's 8-1 victory in Carol Stream, erasing a two-game deficit and creating a three-way tie atop the DVC standings.

The Naperville Central boys tennis team swept host Glenbard North 7-0, winning all of the matches in straight sets and continuing to make the progress needed to remain a contender for the DuPage Valley Conference title next month.

    It was the perfect call from Juliet Tassi, and Keegan Hayes couldn't have thrown the pitch any better. Everything seems to be breaking Naperville Central's way these days. With the tying run at third base and two out in the bottom of the seventh, Hayes froze Glenbard North's Stephanie Campos with a full-count changeup, and the unbeaten and No. 1 Redhawks held on to beat the No. 4 Panthers 2-1 on Monday in Carol Stream.

Behind standout pitching performances from Christian Taugner and Mark Pall, the Lancers (11-2, 7-1) swept a key doubleheader against the Wildcats (9-5, 6-2) in Naperville. The three-game series concludes Tuesday in Roselle.

    The Wheaton co-op boys gymnastics team made a statement on Friday night in Lombard. Wheaton cruised to victory in the DuPage Valley Conference meet at Glenbard East and in doing show posted the top team score in the state, flirting with a 160 before settling with an impressive 159.25. “It shows how good we are and how good we can get and we’re still nowhere close to where we want to be right now,” Wheaton junior Ethan Sansone said. “We’re going to keep working in the gym and we want our final product to be ideal.”
