Glen Ellyn revives antique fundraiser for historical society May 26, 2012 12:00 AM
Midwestern antique dealers from Glen Ellyn to Wales, Wis., converged on Stacy's Corners Saturday for a one-day antique sale at Stacy's Tavern Museum that revived a previous tradition of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society. For a $5 entry fee, antique aficionados could browse displays from 22 antique dealers, take a 30-minute tour of Stacy's Tavern (the gathering place that gave the village of Glen Ellyn its original name, Stacy's Corners), and snag coupons for discounts at 18 restaurants in town and the Stacy's Corners Store.

COD, faculty reach tentative contract deal May 26, 2012 12:00 AM
Negotiating teams for the College of DuPage and the school's faculty association have reached a tentative contract agreement — just days before a contract imposed by COD's board of trustees was set to take effect. The deal was struck just after midnight Saturday — the result of bargaining sessions on Thursday and Friday that lasted a combined 25 hours, said Faculty Association President Glenn Hansen.

As a pitcher, it's always nice to have a go-to pitch, and it's even nicer when that go to pitch is almost untouchable. Bartlett senior Tori Burke used her riseball to her advantage as she struck out 13 Glenbard West hitters Saturday in Bartlett's 2-0 win in the championship game of the Class 4A Bartlett regional.

Artificial turf will be installed at football fields at Glenbard South and East this summer, ready for the start of the new school year in August. Those are the two final schools to get new turf since Glenbard High School District 87 started a turf replacement program at Glenbard North in 2009, followed by Memorial Field at Glenbard West in 2010.
