Choral singers interested in joining the Elgin Master Chorale are invited to attend an open rehearsal Tuesday, Jan. 16. It will provide prospective chorale members an opportunity to sing with the area's premier large chorus in a rehearsal of selections from Mozart's "Requiem" and Vivaldi's "Gloria," two works the Elgin Master Chorale will perform in February with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra.

In January for National Radon Action Month, the Kane County Healthy Places Coalition, in conjunction with the Kane County Health Department, recommend that now is a good time to test your home for the presence of radon. Regardless of the year your home was built, you may have high levels of radon gas.

The award-winning Elgin Symphony Orchestra will perform the orchestral version of Franz Liszt's famous "Hungarian Rhapsody" No. 2 on Friday, Jan. 5, at the Prairie Center for the Arts in Schaumburg, and Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 6-7, at the Hemmens Cultural Center in Elgin.
