    Less than 24 hours after suffering a 55-30 loss to state-ranked Peoria Central, Geneva ran into another highly talented team in Pleasure Ridge (Ky.) Thursday afternoon. While there were several positive signs to be found, the Vikings (6-6) dropped a 76-50 decision to Kentucky’s fifth-ranked team on the third day of the 46th annual East Aurora Holiday Basketball Tournament.

    Dominic Adduci and Patrick Woods will forever hold fond memories of their basketball debuts at St. Charles East. Adduci, a sophomore guard who transferred from Wheaton Academy, drained four 3-pointers on the way to a 16-point effort while helping lead the Saints (1-0) to a convincing 64-34 victory over East Aurora (0-1) in Monday night’s opening round of the 53rd annual St. Charles East/Ron Johnson Thanksgiving Tournament. Ahead 30-21 at halftime, the Saints turned the game into a rout by outscoring the Tomcats 34-13 in the second half of Woods’ first game as St. Charles East head coach.
