Great start. Fantastic finish. Outscoring Streamwood 45-9 in the first and fourth quarters, Dundee-Crown’s girls basketball team was able to overcome a lethargic effort in the second and third quarters. The end result was a 62-31 win for D-C in action at the Dundee-Crown Thanksgiving Tournament in Carpentersville Saturday night.

  • Palatine comes back to beat Dundee-Crown Nov 22, 2014 12:19 AM
It would be way too early to label Palatine’s girls basketball squad a second half team just 2 games into the season. But in the case of their 66-53 win at the Dundee-Crown Thanksgiving Tournament in Carpentersville Friday night over the host Chargers, maybe the fact it took Palatine a little longer to switch gears, as head coach Mark Johnson alluded to afterward, had the Pirates in the right spot the entire time.

  • A happy ending and a message from Dundee-Crown’s Kieltyka Nov 6, 2014 10:00 PM
Dundee-Crown offensive tackle Jake Kieltyka could hear his quarterback calling a play in the huddle, but there was a problem. “I could hear that there were words being said, but I couldn’t understand the play that was being called, what my responsibility was in it,” the West Dundee resident said this week. An honor roll student who had not suffered a concussion this season, Jake had been quietly dealing with such episodes since he was a child. To him, they were normal. So, he did what he always did in such situations: he went about his business until the episode passed.
