    Midwestern antique dealers from Glen Ellyn to Wales, Wis., converged on Stacy's Corners Saturday for a one-day antique sale at Stacy's Tavern Museum that revived a previous tradition of the Glen Ellyn Historical Society. For a $5 entry fee, antique aficionados could browse displays from 22 antique dealers, take a 30-minute tour of Stacy's Tavern (the gathering place that gave the village of Glen Ellyn its original name, Stacy's Corners), and snag coupons for discounts at 18 restaurants in town and the Stacy's Corners Store.

    Allergies prevent the McIntries from having pets in their home, but pollen and animal hair couldn't stop the Wheaton family from joining crowds of hundreds Saturday at the Family Field Day at St. James Farm near Warrenville. "We don't have pets because of allergies in the family," said Lora McIntire, who spent Saturday petting horses and watching canine and equine demonstrations with her daughter, 10-year-old Maureen. "So we come to these events to enjoy different animals."

    Two men robbed a TCF bank inside an Elmhurst grocery store Saturday and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said. The robbery happened around 12:30 p.m. inside a Jewel-Osco store at 153 E. Schiller St., just north of York Street.

    Negotiating teams for the College of DuPage and the school's faculty association have reached a tentative contract agreement — just days before a contract imposed by COD's board of trustees was set to take effect. The deal was struck just after midnight Saturday — the result of bargaining sessions on Thursday and Friday that lasted a combined 25 hours, said Faculty Association President Glenn Hansen.

St. Charles strongman Nate Aye hopes to add his name to the list this weekend. And he couldn't wait to put his 5-foot-9-inch, 170-pound body to the test.

    Food left unattended on a stove apparently triggered an apartment fire Friday in Naperville that caused an estimated $100,000 damage, authorities said. There were no injuries in the fire that was reported shortly after 1 p.m. by a resident at the complex on 1500 Fairway Drive.

    A Naperville man faces up to four years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated child pornography, prosecutors said Friday. Duane Lipinski, 44, was arrested in March after police searched his home on the 600 block of Milton Drive and seized computers containing hundreds of child pornography images, authorities said.
