    The owners of Millrose Restaurant Banquets & Country Store in South Barrington are preparing to open a Gino’s East franchise on the property in mid-January, but without giving up their existing restaurant. Among the six relocated barns that make up the landmark establishment at 45 S. Barrington Road, only the Rosewood Room and lounge area will be converted into space for the famous deep dish pizza restaurant, said Dwight Stiehl, president and CEO of the Rose Packing Company which owns the Millrose.

    Though a small kitchen fire canceled Christmas dinner at Wildfire Steaks, Chops & Seafood in Lincolnshire, the restaurant reopened in time for a normal Friday, Manager Greg Nemeth said. No one was injured and no structural damage was caused by the fire that began about 1:30 p.m. Thursday. But there simply were too many things to sign off on for Wildfire to recover in time for Christmas itself, Nemeth said.

Greg Nemeth, a manager at Wildfire, said the restaurant wasn’t able to reopen after the fire, which fire officials said was partially extinguished by the sprinkler system.

But the beef, its preparation, quality and Burke's patented drying method remain unaltered.

    Just months after receiving a $6.5 million settlement from the village of Mount Prospect, the owner of longtime downtown dining staple Ye Olde Town Inn abruptly closed the business Sunday. Former employees saidthere was no notice given before the restaurant closed its doors for good. “Due to personal interest and family concerns, Ye Olde Town Inn is closed,” owner Tod Curtis said.
