Through the cosmic magic of the Austin Powers time traveling car, a "young" Burt Bacharach will join The Park Ridge Chorale to narrate its upcoming concert, "Bacharach and Friends", Saturday, July 23, 7 p.m., St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 205 N. Prospect, Park Ridge.

The Springs at Monarch Landing has launched its Respite Rehab Program. The unique initiative is designed to help patients not quite ready to go home from a hospital stay, while not meeting insurance qualifications for skilled care. The Respite Rehab Program provides the necessary support between hospital and home. The Respite Rehab Program is customized for each guest, based on his or her specific goals. Dr. Lynette Rennecker, the dedicated on-site medical director for The Springs, oversees and coordinates the care of each rehab guest with The Springs' team of nurses, therapists, social worker and registered dietician.
Des Plaines may allow police flags on city-owned property

Des Plaines aldermen Monday will consider adding the Des Plaines police and fire department flags, and perhaps the thin blue line flag in tribute to fallen police officers, to the list of flags permitted to be flown on city-owned properties.

When Mary Adams and boyfriend Patrick McGeean finished a round of 18 on July 2 at the Park Ridge Country Club, he had a big question for her. But he didn't have to ask verbally. "Will You Marry Me?" was already spelled out on the 18th green.

VILLA PARK- Illinois National Guard members will soon be able to receive veterans status on Illinois identification cards thanks to State Senator Tom Cullerton's initiative that was signed into law today. Senate Bill 2173 addresses complaints from National Guard members not being classified as veterans since they had not been called to active duty by the President of the United States, Congress or the Governor of Illinois.
