In order to avoid what he said would be a major "distraction," Gary Grasso has decided to resign his post as mayor of Burr Ridge and focus all his attention on his duties as a new District 3 board member on the DuPage County Board. “I know there were questions about holding dual offices, and the last thing I want for Burr Ridge is to become a distraction,” he said.

Cook County commissioner seeks vote on annexation May 10, 2012 12:00 AM
Cook County Board Commissioner Tim Schneider wants to assure residents and municipal officials that a recent idea to annex all the countys remaining unincorporated land will not be implemented overnight or without voters consent. Schneider has no personal objection to the idea that surrounding municipalities annex the countys 62 square miles of unincorporated land, but he wants property owners to have a vote.
