  Multiple fires that crews from the Countryside Fire Protection District responded to on Wednesday afternoon may have been caused by lightning, according to officials. The fire that caused the most damage occurred around 12:24 p.m. on the 26700 block of Long Meadow Circle in Mundelein. • No one injured in basement fire near Grayslake Feb 22, 2013 12:00 AM
  The cause of a fire in an abandoned home in unincorporated Lake County near Grayslake is under investigation, fire officials said. The Grayslake Fire Protection District was notified at 10:39 a.m. of the fire near Winchester Road and Highway 83. Upon arrival at the home in the 29000 block of North Ivanhoe Road, firefighters found an abandoned farmhouse with a fire actively burning in the basement.

  Four people were injured following a carbon monoxide leak near Mundelein, authorities said Monday. Officials from the Countryside Fire Protection District said a resident from the 19000 block of Hoag Court contacted the fire district about 11 a.m. Sunday complaining of carbon monoxide sickness.
