The project will include the paving of an existing trail in the Poplar Creek Forest Preserve; the creation of a north-south paved path along the Canadian National railroad tracks that will go under I-90 and Hoffman Boulevard bridges; and markings on the road through parts of Prairie Stone, north to the Prairie Stone Wellness Center.

    Cook County Sheriff Police are investigating a hit-and-run that killed a Park Ridge man Monday, authorities said. Ronald Bougan, 53, of the 00 to 100 block of North Northwest Highway, was found by a passerby at about 5:15 p.m. about four feet off east bound Touhy Avenue at the entrance to Iroquois Woods, said Cook County Sheriff spokesman Frank Bilecki. Bilecki said all indications show Bougan was struck by a vehicle Monday morning.
