Incumbent Pete Ladesic bucked the party that usually determines elections and has secured a third term on the Glen Ellyn village board. The other two seats available on the village board will be filled by John Kenwood and Mark Senak.
Incumbent slate cruises to victory in Barrington village board race

The slate of incumbent trustees Robert Windon and Jim Daluga, along with running mate Jason Lohmeyer, claimed a clear victory Tuesday in the race for the Barrington village board. The three ran against a slate of challengers -- Mike Kozel, JoAnn Fletcher, Maureen E. Yates -- who opposed the direction the village's downtown projects have taken under the current board's leadership.
Gaugel to replace Martin on St. Charles city council, Bancroft gets full term

Birch, Ligino-Kubinski take West Chicago council seats

Recently appointed Melissa Birch will keep her seat in Ward 4 and newcomer Noreen Ligino-Kubinski will be the new representative for Ward 7 on the West Chicago City Council. Birch, who was being challenged by Wayne Woodward, overwhelmingly won the Ward 4 race with 84 percent of the vote. In Ward 7, Ligino-Kubinski beat former alderman Nicholas Dzierzanowski by 12 votes.
Newcomer Macek to join Antioch village board

In his first bid for public office, insurance agent Ed Macek appears to have won a seat on the Antioch village board. With all 13 precincts reporting, unofficial results showed Macek with 822 votes, edging out incumbent Dennis Crosby who landed in fourth with 699 votes. Incumbents Mary C. Dominiak and Jay Jozwiak were Tuesday's other winners.
Fischer defeats Dinwiddie, earns full term on Batavia council

Carl Fischer has earned a four-year term as 1st Ward Alderman on the Batavia City Council. Fischer, who was appointed in October to fill a vacancy, defeated longtime community activist Carl Dinwiddie.

Heffernan re-elected as Lily Lake village president

Two-term incumbent Jesse Heffernan defeated challenger Mike Carlson on Tuesday to remain Lily Lake village president. Unofficial vote tallies showed Heffernan received 116 votes to Carlson's 86 votes. "I was expecting a bigger turnout for the amount of people who were complaining," said Carlson Tuesday. "But complaining and voting are two different things."
Incumbents sweep in Lisle

Lisle's three village board incumbents appear to have retained their seats for four more years. With all 27 precincts reporting, unofficial results show incumbents Cathy Cawiezel with 1,150 votes, Mark Boyle with 1,124 votes and Robert Mandel with 935 votes. Challenger Kristy Grau, a 36-year-old substitute teacher, received 917 votes.
