No. 1 Benet blows by No. 2 West Aurora Feb 2, 2013 12:00 AM
Pitting the area’s No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams, the second game Saturday at Batavia’s 20th annual Jim and Sylvia Roberts Night of Hoops looked like a can’t-miss pick for one of the games of the year. Turns out it was just Benet who couldn’t miss. The Redwings blistered the nets in the first half, hitting 68 percent of their shots from the field including 4 of 5 from beyond the arc. That sizzling start enabled No. 1 Benet to build a 19-point halftime lead over No. 2 West Aurora. The Redwings cooled a bit in the second half, though never enough to allow the Blackhawks to get within single digits on their way to an impressive 62-50 victory.

Benet up to the task in rematch Jan 26, 2013 12:00 AM

Prasse injured, but Benet defeats Downers Grove South Jan 22, 2013 12:00 AM
Sooner or later Benet knew it would have to win again without Christen Prasse — later as in next year. Sooner came Tuesday night. The young Redwings managed just fine, thank you. Prasse was knocked out of the game with a shot to the mouth in the waning moments of the first half, but minus its senior point guard No. 19 Benet pulled away from a halftime tie to win at Downers Grove South 55-38.
