Memo to the Mid-Suburban East: Buffalo Grove is on the move. The Bison played their best boys basketball game of the year Saturday night, rallying from down 38-21 in the third quarter for a stunning 62-59 overtime victory over visiting Prospect. Even at 5-12 overall and 2-4 in the division, you’d have thought the boisterous young post-game Bison had just clinched the league title. Sophomore point guard Collin Dekorsi stood tallest with 30 clutch points, including a pair of fourth-quarter 3-pointers that knotted the game and 4 overtime free throws that helped build a virtually insurmountable lead.

  • Jacobs pulls away from Elgin Jan 24, 2015 10:34 PM
With the seconds ticking off the clock at the end of the first half, and leading Elgin by just one, Jacobs’ Cory Boeckh lobbed a pass toward the basket where Kenton Mack snatched the ball out of the air. Instead of slamming it home, Mack let it gently roll off his fingers as time expired, giving the Golden Eagles a 3-point lead. Jacobs would expand its lead from there, rattling off an 11-0 run to start the third quarter before cruising to a comfortable 58-37 nonconference boys basketball win at Chesbrough Field House in Elgin Saturday.
