The misdemeanor charge could be increased after the Lake County State's Attorney's Office gets clarificationon on the concealed carry law, part of which was deemed unconstitutional in Illinois.

    A man was arrested Monday morning at the BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club for attempting to bring in a concealed firearm, Lake Forest police said. The man was stopped by security at the main entrance of the event, which was rained out Sunday and finished Monday instead.

    Jim Furyk put his 59 behind him with a round that was 10 shots higher Saturday in the BMW Championship in Lake Forest. Now all he wants is a trophy. Furyk recovered from a sluggish start with three birdies in a five-hole stretch around the turn. A three-putt bogey from 30 feet on the par-5 18th forced him to settle for a 2-under 69 and a one-shot lead over Steve Stricker.

    There was history made at Conway Farms late Friday afternoon in the BMW Championship, as Jim Furyk shot only the sixth 59 ever on the PGA Tour. The man who won the Tour Championship and the FedEx Cup in 2010 is also tied at 11 under with Brandt Snedeker for the BMW lead. “It’ll sink in later,” said the typically mild-mannered Furyk on Friday evening.
