Automobile "interlocks" that require motorists to breathe into a tube before trying to start their cars have stopped 1.8 million cases of drunken driving nationwide, according to a report released Wednesday by officials from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) who called for wider use of the technology.

The Chicago Auto show, the largest in North America with nearly 1,000 vehicles on display, will mark the world and North American debut of many of those vehicles when it opens Saturday, Feb. 13. You'll also be able to see some concept or experimental vehicles, a variety of exhibits, project and competition vehicles and vintage and collectible cars.

A lot has changed in the quaint city of Kokomo, Indiana, since Elwood Haynes took his first automobile out for a test drive in 1894. Haynes' innovative legacy lives on and can be experienced firsthand in the town's Kokomo Automotive Museum. It was started in 1998 and showcases more than 100 vehicles spanning the last 100 years.
