This is always a big game in Lake County, and not just because these two schools are sister schools from the same district. In recent years, Lakes and Antioch have maintained two of the best football programs in the North Suburban Conference. Either Lakes or Antioch has won each of the last four NSC Prairie Division titles, with Lakes taking three.

A few political showdowns surfaced Monday in Lake County as candidates began filing for the April 2015 consolidated election. The hottest action on the first day of filing was for the Wauconda village board race, where eight candidates filed for four trustee seats.

They were born four years apart, but two Antioch sisters on Saturday will be celebrating a shared birthday with a numerical twist. Jenna and Jessica Lamberty will turn 11 and 15 respectively for a quirky straight: 11-12-13-14-15. "We'll buy a lottery ticket on Saturday," says mom, Julie.
