The funds raised from the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge will benefit Special Olympics Illinois Far West Suburban/Area 2, which serves athletes with intellectual disabilities in DuPage, Kane and Kendall counties.

    First Congregational Church of Dundee will host a handbell concert featuring the Chicago Bronze English Handbell Ensemble at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 22. Ring in the spring with bells at the first solo concert. From the excitement of Pizzicati to the soothing sounds of Debussy’s “Preludes: La fille aux cheveux de lin,” there’s something for everyone! The community is invited to this performance, which will benefit the bell program at the church.

St. Charles resident Kay Catlin has started an autograph collection to honor those who had made significant contribution in a variety of fields. The overriding goal was to have a permanent, visual reminder she could hand down to her daughters and granddaughters.

    With the need for behavioral health services on a constant rise in McHenry County, Pioneer Center is creating ways to allow the public quicker and better access to services. Starting Monday, March 2, the organization will expand its walk-in admissions hours. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays, individuals will be able to visit Pioneer Center’s Veterans Parkway location in McHenry at a time most convenient for them — without calling ahead for an appointment.
