Retired Chicago Bears Pro Bowl defensive end Adewale Ogunleye donates Thanksgiving turkeys to St. Malachy School

For the fifth year, Former Chicago Bears and Pro Bowl Defensive End Adewale Ogunleye hosted his "Goal Power Foundation" Thanksgiving event at St. Malachy School in Chicago.

As part of his foundation's program he provided all of the families at St. Malachy's after school program a Thanksgiving turkey. In addition to the turkeys, some of the students were honored during the assembly as part of his Thanksgiving essay contest.

Joining Ogunleye was his former Bears teammate retired defensive end Israel Idonije, Chicago Bears mascot Staley Da Bear, and guests.

"It means a lot to me to be able to come back to Chicago to speak with the kids at St. Malachy School. I appreciate the continued support of my former teammate Israel Idonije for joining me in the annual tradition. I am very grateful to be able to provide the families turkeys for Thanksgiving," said Goal Power Foundation founder Adewale Ogunleye.

Goal Power Foundation has provided over 500 Thanksgiving Turkeys to St. Malachy School over the past five years.

Being an active participant in the community especially promoting education has always been something that is very important to Ogunleye. When he was playing for the Chicago Bears he started the Goal Power Program to expose students to different careers and education. Goal Power Foundation's mission is to expose at risk students to different careers, education and assist children and families in need. In addition to the Thanksgiving turkeys he provides to students at St. Malachy School in Chicago he provided Thanksgiving items to the elementary school he attended as a child, PS 57 in Staten Island, New York for a Thanksgiving event to help with hunger relief.

Goal Power Foundation has donated over 1,500 Thanksgiving Turkeys and additional items to families.
