Batavia's Daddio's Diner hosts Polar Express Toy Drive

During this holiday season, Daddio's Diner, 134 W. Wilson St. in Batavia, wants to do something special for the community.

So many families are hurting this year that Christmas gifts will be last on their list. So, they are hosting their first Toy Drive, hoping it becomes a tradition!

The toys will be given to Batavia Access, which supplies toys to children in the Batavia community, ages 1 to 16.

Cash, gift cards, and checks will also be accepted. Checks should be made out to "Batavia Access Toy Drive." Please leave toys unwrapped.

The Daddio's Diner family loves "The Polar Express" and will be creating a Christmas wonderland photo-op outside the diner with life-size cutouts from the movie, like Santa, the Conductor, and the Polar Express train.

They also will be playing Christmas music of course!

The Toy Drive and outdoor festivities will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28-29 and Dec. 5-6. There will be "elves" ready outside to assist you in collecting your donations and taking your photo. Remember to wear your masks and socially distance. And when you are out looking for toys to buy, don't forget to shop local!
