Fox River Valley DAR to offer genealogy program and workshop Feb. 4

On Tuesday, Feb. 4, the Fox River Valley Chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is hosting a special genealogy program, "Introduction to Family Search" by Tara Cajacob, a genealogy and local history specialist.

The program will be from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in the lower level of the Algonquin Area Public Library, 2600 Harnish Drive in Algonquin. To attend, sign up at aapld.libnet.info.

Following the special genealogy program, there will be a Fox River Valley Chapter Genealogy Workshop from 7:30 to 9 p.m. for women interested in joining the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution.

The DAR is the largest lineage society in American with over 185,000 current members who trace their ancestry to a patriot who fought for or aided in some way the cause of American Independence.
