Hope for Haitians to host fundraiser Nov. 15

On Friday, Nov. 15, Hope for Haitians invites the community to celebrate "Bay Lavi," which means "Give Life" in Haitian Creole, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Riverside Receptions, 35 N. River Lane in Geneva.

The evening will include food, an uplifting speaker, DJ and dancing, games, raffles and an array of silent auction items such as trips, restaurant cards, sporting events, golf and more.

You can register at hopeforhaitians.org for a $75 fee per person until Friday, Nov. 8; $85 after that date. It includes heavy hors d'oeuvres and a drink coupon.

Since 2001, Hope for Haitians has worked to bring clean water, food, housing, education and medical services to Haiti, home to more than 9 million people and considered to be the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
