Adult students invited to learn about ECC programs, classes

Elgin Community College will hold an adult student information session from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in Building C, Room C120, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin.

Adults who are considering returning to school or enrolling in college for the first time are encouraged to attend this free event.

"It's never too late to learn new skills, change jobs or start a career," says Jennifer McClure, managing director of enrollment services. "ECC gives you a great education at an affordable price. This information session is a great time to explore your options."

During the information session, knowledgeable ECC staff will help attendees explore degree and certificate programs; navigate the admissions process; evaluate prior college credit; understand financial aid, scholarships and payment plans; and learn about additional college resources, including tutoring, academic advising and career services.

"ECC gave me direction, a sense of purpose, and hope for not only my future, but for the future I will be able to provide my children," says recent graduate Andrea Haas.

ECC offers more than 130 degree and certificate program options that can help enhance a skill set, facilitate a career change, increase employability and support job security. Some programs of study offer night or weekend classes to accommodate students who work full time.
