Wheaton Library celebrating Harry Potter's birthday

Wheaton Public Library will celebrate Harry Potter's birthday with its first all-ages Wizard Fest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 27, on the main floor and lower level of the library, 225 N. Cross St.

There will be hands-on activities for fans of "The Boy Who Lived" throughout the library, including a scavenger hunt, bingo, wand making, Butterbeer tasting, a costume contest, and a live performance by self-proclaimed "wizard rock band" Tonks and the Aurors at 3 p.m.

Attendees may even bring their own lunch and eat in the Great Hall.

The week leading up to the event will feature Harry Potter Trivia at Dry City Brew Works at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, with no registration required.

The library also will host a Harry Potter-themed drawing workshop for teens and adults at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25; registration required at wheatonlibrary.org/calendar.
