Community Summer Lunch Program offered in Carol Stream

All Carol Stream, Bloomingdale, Hanover Park and surrounding area children are invited for free hot meals at the Community Summer Lunch Program, hosted at Carol Stream School.

The meals are offered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every weekday through Aug. 9, with the exception of July 4, at the school, 522 Sioux Lane, Carol Stream.

There's no need to sign up or make a reservation. Parents are welcome to escort their children, but meals are meant only for those 18 or younger.

In addition to meals, attendees will be able to engage in outdoor play, indoor games, and literacy activities, including book reads from Community Consolidated School District 93 teachers. Attendees can provide their own transportation or ride one of the program's buses.

The Community Summer Lunch Program is offered in partnership with District 93, Carol Stream Women's Club, Heritage Presbyterian Church, St. Andrew United Methodist Church, St. Isidore Parish, Carol Stream Public Library, Carol Stream Park District, and the village of Carol Stream.

The program is a Summer Food Service Program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, with funds being distributed through the Illinois State Board of Education.
