Arlington Heights Arts Commission to host decorated mirror competition

Show your creativity by participating in the Arlington Heights Arts Commission's annual Decorated Object Art Competition featured at the annual Arlington Heights Frontier Days Festival Sunday, July 7 at Recreation Park. This year's object is "Mirrors."

Decorate an existing mirror as a group or an individual, and bring your mirror to Recreation Park between noon and 2 p.m. July 7. The competition will be held within the park near Belmont Avenue and Miner Street, Arlington Heights. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m.

The contest is open to all ages. Mirrors must be no larger than 24 inches by 24 inches.

Selection criteria for the winners includes: artistic impression, originality, quality and aesthetic appeal. First and second prizes will be awarded in four categories (Adult, Youth, Child and Group). One prize will be awarded in the People's Choice category.
