District 211 to hold open house for student-built house

The Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 school board is inviting the public to an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, at a 3,137-square-foot house built by building construction students from Palatine and Fremd High School students.

The students, under the direction of their teachers, have spent nearly two school years working on the two-story, four-bedroom house at 155 E. Glade St. in Palatine.

In addition to the physical construction, the house was designed by 2017 Palatine High School graduate Angel Ewald while in the Project Lead the Way Civil Engineering & Architecture program. He is now majoring in technology education at Illinois State University.
