Naperville residents who want an easy-to-read overview of their Naperville Park District's finances, goals and accomplishments can read the newly released 2019 Budget Snapshot available online at www.napervilleparks.org. Print copies also are available at park district facilities.

The Budget Snapshot includes the Naperville Park District's mission, vision and values, a summary of growth and enhancements for the community since 2012, a graphic showing where tax dollars go, and a list of capital projects planned for 2019. The District's complete 2019 budget document also is available online at www.napervilleparks.org.

"Our financial reports are available for the public to read, and the Budget Snapshot helps make that information even more accessible," said Executive Director Ray McGury.

The park district recently learned that its more detailed annual financial reports once again have been recognized by the Government Financial Officers Association for excellence in financial reporting.

The Naperville Park District's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report received the Certificate for Achievement in Financial Reporting for the 2017 report and for reports each year since 1982. The District's Annual Report also received an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for 2017 and for each year since 2012.

"These financial reports reflect the District's careful stewardship of tax dollars and strong financial position," said McGury.

The Park District has maintained the top bond rating since it was upgraded from Aa1 to Aaa by Moody's in 2008.
