Local coffee pros to offer a buzz at Live Art Series' 'I Heart Coffee'

Water Street Studios' Live Art Series will present "I Heart Coffee" at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25.

Humans have been telling stories over coffee for over 500 years. Water Street Studios hopes to honor that tradition by inviting some of their favorite local coffee professionals to share their stories. How did they get started? What is their process? What is the craziest thing they've done for the love of coffee? These are just some of the questions they may answer in front of our coffee-crazy crowd.

The lineup of coffee pros includes:

• Eric Andersen of FreshGround Roasting in Geneva;

• Dan Colbert of Zoom Doggy Coffee in North Aurora;

• Marcus and Jenni Contaldo of Modest Coffee in West Chicago;

• Chad Dawes of Tredwell Coffee in Aurora;

• Sarah Harms of Kindred Coffee Roasters in West Chicago;

• Leah Leman and Joy Mason of Limestone Coffee & Tea in Batavia;

• Pete Leonard of I Have a Bean in Wheaton;

• Cody Lorance of Endiro Coffee in Aurora.

They have encouraged the coffee pros to bring items for sale, such as beans, shirts, mugs, etc., so be prepared to stock up on some sweet coffee swag.

Seating is limited to 70. Tickets are $7.50 during online presale or $10 at the door. All proceeds go to support the continuation of arts programming at Water Street Studios, a nonprofit art center in Batavia. Doors and cocktail hour at 6 p.m. Performance begins at 7 p.m.

Enjoy a cash bar featuring beverages provided by Solemn Oath Brewery and Whiskey Acres Distilling Co.

The event is sponsored by the Batavia Arts Council, K. Hollis Jewelers, and BEI Properties.
