St. Charles drill teams to host car wash fundraiser Aug. 25-26

The St. Charles North and East high school drill teams will host a car wash fundraiser from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25-26, at McDowell Remodeling, 521 W. Main St., St. Charles.

Cost is $6 for cars and $10 for vans or trucks.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Kick-A-Thon, an annual fundraiser that helps to raise money for the Fox Valley chapter of the American Cancer Society, LivingWell Cancer Resource Center and Fox Valley Food For Health. Visit www.kick-a-thon.org.

The 2018 Kick-A-Thon will take place Friday, Sept. 28, at St. Charles North High School.

The 25th annual Kick-A-Thon is a joint effort by St. Charles North and East high schools to raise money to help fight cancer. To date, more than $1 million has been raised.

You can sign up to be a "Community Kicker" at www.kick-a-thon.org/registration. There is a $25 registration fee that goes toward the suggested minimum donation amount of $200. After registering, create your own Kicker Donation Campaign on the Kick-A-Thon website.

The evening's events on Sept. 28 begin with a "tailgate dinner" at 5:30 p.m. The "Kick Line" begins at 6:15 p.m. You and your dance team partner will be lined up for the march onto the field at approximately 6:15 p.m. At the end of the sophomore game, the Community Kickers are announced and then the kicking will begin. Afterward, enjoy more refreshments and dessert off field or watch the Crosstown Classic football game from the stands.
