Alpine Fest returns to Lake Zurich July 20-22

The Lake Zurich Lions Club will present Alpine Fest '18 from Friday through Sunday, July 20-22, in Lion Fred Blau Park, 81 E. Main St., Lake Zurich.

Festival grounds will be open from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday, and 1-9 p.m. Sunday. The fest also includes water fights on Main Street at 5:30 p.m. Friday for firefighters, 11 a.m. Saturday for Firefighter Explorers, and noon Saturday for businesses.

The event offers carnival rides and games, food, a beer garden, entertainment and more. Lions Club members will make and sell food like funnel cakes, cotton candy, snow cones, pizza, pretzels and other treats.

A parade will step off at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Participants will start lining up at 9:30 a.m. at Paulus Park and proceed to Lions Park. The public is invited to join the procession after the last group and be a part of the parade.

Bands scheduled to perform on the Big Top Main Stage include, on Friday: Veilside playing "no frills" hard rock at 6 p.m. and Royal Bliss playing heartland rock at 8:30 p.m.

On Saturday: Razin' Kane with country and southern rock at 2 p.m.; Funktastic with soul-infused funk at 5 p.m. and classic rock cover band ARRA at 8:30 p.m. And, on Sunday: party band Gina Gonzalez and the Wingmen at 2 p.m. and Semple, featuring "The Voice" finalist Keith Semple, at 5:15 p.m.
