Travanse Living at Wheaton to welcome award-winning author Patricia M. McClure

On Thursday, July 19, join Travanse Living at Wheaton for a heartfelt presentation and book signing by Patricia M. McClure, the award-winning author of "Losing a Hero to Alzheimer's: The Story of Pearl."

McClure will give a presentation on "Understanding Alzheimer's/Dementia 101." McClure uses her 20 plus years of experience as an educator and health care professional to share her journey as her mother's caregiver, while family members watched from the sidelines. McClure will identify the signs and symptoms of the disease, share practical guidelines on caregiving, and provide characteristics associated with each stage of the disease. Additionally, McClure will reveal the effects it can have on the individual, family and caregiver.

Travanse Living at Wheaton is an assisted living and memory care community located at 219 E. Parkway Drive in Wheaton.

The program is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the program will be from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Tours will also be available for this vibrant community.
