Libertyville chiropractors launch Salutogenic Life supplement line

LIBERTYVILLE -Drs. Jordan Leasure and Jade Dellinger of North Shore Pro-Active Health have launched a functional medicine brand that includes their own line of top-quality, physician-grade supplements.

Salutogenic Life offers about 40 products in eight categories: foundational, digestive, pain and inflammation, cardio and metabolic, cognitive and mood, sports performance, beauty and body, and immune health. But the sibling chiropractors emphasized that Salutogenic Life is about far more than vitamins.

"People visiting our website will find information about yoga, the proper way to breathe, why drinking water is so important ..." Leasure said. "Supplements are one spoke in the wheel."

Offering nutritional counseling and supplements always has been a part of their practice, the Libertyville chiropractors said. The recent launch of their own supplement line grew out of a desire to de-clutter the ordering process, ensure that each product offered was the best of the best, and help other medical practices to take advantage of Leasure's functional medicine expertise.

Gwen Markson, the mother of a childhood friend of Dellinger's, brought up her achy joints during a conversation with Dellinger earlier this year. Dellinger suggested she try some Salutogenic Life supplements, including turmeric, Restore, CoQ10, collagen powder and others.

"I usually don't say much about products I'm using, but after a switch to Salutogenic's supplements, arthritic pain in my hips and knees has lessened in severity," said Markson, who is 66. "Finishing my bowling season, I actually felt good - like I did 10 years ago!"

Leasure and Dellinger researched for years, learning which products achieved the greatest absorption rates and results, and ultimately contracting with three labs to produce the Salutogenic Life line. In combination with healthy lifestyle choices, meditation, clean eating, exercise and relaxation techniques, the supplements afford a solid foundation for wellness, the doctors said.

Too many people wait for a diagnosis or experience a serious health event before focusing on healthy choices. People who aim for salutogenesis are running toward health, rather than running from pathogenesis, or disease, Leasure and Dellinger said.

They added that even healthy eaters will benefit from their high-quality supplements.

"We've done nutrient testing on individuals ranging from professional athletes who are eating clean to someone who's very sedentary, doesn't eat well and takes an over-the-counter vitamin," Dellinger said. "You'll find deficiencies in both. It's just a matter of which nutrients and to what degree."

The supplements are available internationally for individuals and practices. Visit salutogeniclife.com for a health quiz, wellness blog, product descriptions and ordering information.
